My name is Ivan Boden and I am a photographer and designer.

I started my career at nineteen with ImageWorks as a typesetter and designer, working while attending Ramapo College of NJ. My education continued with studies at Pratt, and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.

Designing for clients such as Automatic Data Processing, IBM, Mercedes Benz, Sandoz, Seiko, Sherwin Williams, KPMG Peat Marwick, and many others. From corporate branding and identity,  logos, annual reports, brochures, trade shows, newsletters, advertisements, to web. I had the privilege to work with and learn from some of finest.

In 1999, I became manager of design for ISO, a data analytics company in the insurance industry. The company and design department expanded and by October, 2009, went public and I became creative director. In 2007, I joined the board of directors at InSource an organization devoted to support in-house designers and managers, where I served for four years.

In my spare time, I picked up my camera as a creative outlet which developed into a passion that continues today.

After 15 years of corporate life, I chose to follow my heart as a photographer.

As an award winning designer, I have worked with and art directed photographers for many years, from commercial, advertising and marketing campaigns, to just about anything. I am fortunate to have the unique perspective working inside corporate, and outside in a studio.

I love meeting people and learning new things every time I’m behind the lens. I spent eight years photographing in theater arts, from small community theater, to a magnate performing arts school, and university. I’m active in leading photowalks in and around New York City and participate with some meetup groups.

Several years ago, some friends and I started an all-volunteer organization called Smiles Are Free. Our mission, to give back to the community through photography. We arranged free portrait session for families that might be struggling due to economy, illness or circumstance.

It is my joy working with such extraordinary and talented people, and giving back to families and the community through photography.
